SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED AT ENGINEERS WEEK BANQUET
Moline, IL -- The Quad City Engineering and Science Council presented the following scholarships at the 43rd Annual National Engineers Week Banquet held on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the John Deere Pavilion in Moline, Illinois

Kristina Marie Daggett -
Davenport West High School - Davenport, Iowa Kristina Marie Daggett, daughter of Terry and Kathy Daggett, is currently a senior at West High School and maintains a 3.98 G.P.A. She is currently the Secretary of Student Senate, Vice President of National Honor Society and Vice President of Math Club. During her high school career she also has participated in Spanish Club, track, softball, tennis, basketball, and cross country. She plans to continue her education at Iowa State University by majoring in engineering and minoring, or possibly double majoring, in Spanish. |

Ryan Damewood - Sherrard
High School - Sherrard, Illinois Ryan Damewood is a senior at Sherrard High School. He performs with the band, including jazz, madrigal, marching, and symphonic. Ryan is a four year participant of the QC Elite Robotics Team, and has been the robot operator for two years. He is a member of the Honor Society and an Illinois State Scholar. Ryan is a member of the Sherrard Student Advisory Board and the Foreign Language Club. Ryan plans to attend Bradley University and will major in mechanical engineering. His parents are Mark and Connie Damewood.

Ellen Kloppenborg -
Davenport Central High School - Davenport, Iowa Ellen Kloppenborg is ranked first in her class at Davenport Central High School. She plans to major in chemical engineering. Ellen is a National Merit Finalist, Iowa Governor's Scholar, and Presidential Scholar candidate. She has a love for music, and serves as concertmaster of the Central High School orchestra, assistant concertmaster of the Quad City Youth Symphony and coordinator of the Instruments for Kids Program. Ellen is a National Honor Society officer and a Junior Rotarian. |
| Major funding for the QCESC scholarships was provided by the International Society for Measurement and Control (ISA). Other contributing societies for the QCESC scholarships this year include American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE) - Quad City Section, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - Quad City Section, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) - Iowa-Illinois Section, Fluid Power Society (FPS) - Quad-City Chapter, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) - Iowa-Illinois Section, National Association of Women in Construction (NAWC) - Quad City Chapter, Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) - Rock Island Post, SAE International - Mississippi Valley Section. |
