4. Practice Fields:
Two practice fields will be provided (floor mounted) on first floor in the rear stair area.  There will be a sign-up sheet in 10 minute increments.  To allow access to all teams, you will not be able to sign-up for consecutive slots.
Note:  FLL Teams are not allowed to bring their own practice fields to the regional at the Putnam.

5. Format for the Judging

Project Judging:
The team will have 5 minutes to present, which includes the 1 minute for setup and then 5 minutes to answer questions.

A data projector with a cable and wall to project on to will be available for teams that plan to have a computer presentation (not required).  The teams must provide the laptop and associated software.

The session are open to everyone to attend if room allows.  People will not be allowed to enter a room after the judging session has started.

Core Values:
There will be a surprise exercise for the teams and provides a chance for the teams to talk with the judges about FLL's core values.  The details about the surprise exercises should not be shared with other teams. There is a total of 10 minutes for the exercise and Q&A with the judges.

The session is only open to students with no coaches or parents able to attend.

Robot Judging:
Room is setup with regulation FLL playing field.  Teams get to talk with the judges about their robot, the design decisions they made, how they programmed the robot, etc.  It is highly recommended that the teams bring their robot to this session with attachments and printouts or a laptop to show the programming for their robot.

The session are open to everyone to attend if room allows.  People will not be allowed to enter a room after the judging session has started.

6.

Cancellation/Weather Policy:
The QC FLL Regional Qualifier will only be canceled or delayed due to causes and conditions beyond the tournament organizers' control, including, but not limited to, Acts of Nature, pandemics, government restrictions, significant number of teams having to cancel due to illness and/or any other cause beyond the tournament organizers' control. In the event of inclement weather, the tournament will only be canceled if the included county and/or surrounding counties have declared a weather emergency including but not limited to tow bans, lack of emergency response crews, closed roadways, or travel not advised warnings. Please refer to local news, Iowa DOT website and radio for current county advisories. If the championship event or related events must be canceled, it will be at the discretion of the Iowa FLL Director on whether these events will be rescheduled.

If a tournament has to be canceled before the tournament day begins, teams will be notified by an email sent to the registered FLL coach email address. If the tournament has to be canceled the day of the event, the organizers will do their best to do so early and will contact teams via the registered FLL coach email address, at minimum.

Obviously a decision to cancel an event is not undertaken lightly and if a team feels that conditions will not permit their safe arrival at an event, they should use their own judgment as to whether or not they should attend.
