The Quad City Section was founded on April 9, 1949 as the Iowa-Illinois Section of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE) which was itself founded in 1907. The Section became the Quad City Section in 1955 while ASAE became the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) in 2005.
